glowing on the edge: reflective workshop + collaborative photoshoot

As part of Danielle Mužina's feverdream residency, she's excited to invite you to Glowing on the Edge: A Community Workshop + Collaborative Photoshoot on Saturday, June 29. This participatory workshop will inform a new chapter in her Pink Apocalypse painting series—a queer, femme, and survivor-centered visual world shaped by crisis, care, and collaboration.

About Her Work

Danielle's figurative paintings use layered, pink-saturated environments to explore how we survive and respond to social, political, and environmental upheavals. The Pink Apocalypse envisions a world on the brink—one where femme, queer, and gender-expansive characters and their community reckon with personal and collective agency amidst crisis and uncertainty. Now, through this community event, she's inviting Clevelanders to shape the next chapter, bringing their own feelings and experiences to dream up paths to work together through our tenuous contemporary moment.

Event Details:

This two-part event includes:

Part 1 – Guided Artmaking & Reflection (45 min)
We’ll explore the themes of crisis, care, ritual, and resilience through journaling and sketching prompts designed to help you process and imagine responses to uncertain times.

(15-20 min break/transition)

Part 2 – Collaborative Tableaux + Photo Shoot (45 min)

(10 min wrap-up)

Together, we’ll stage and photograph symbolic, living scenes (“tableaux vivants”) inspired by your ideas, in hopes of catharsis, catalyzation, and connection for participants. These images will serve as source material for new paintings and the public mural Danielle will create—expanding her evolving project with your perspectives and shared storytelling.

You can come exactly as you are—no special skills or preparation needed, just a pencil & paper. Thematic outfits inspired by the artist's work are always welcome, but not required. Just bring your full self, your imagination, and your voice.

RSVP and full details coming soon!
